Date Night

This week has been very busy and full of music! Thursday morning I was offered tickets to the Clay Walker concert at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I had never been before and really enjoyed it! We got to see bull riding, barrell racing, wagon racing, and horse bucking. The cutest thing was they had these little kids, under the age of 6, riding sheep. The kids had on a catchers mask and they just laid on top of the sheep gripping their hair. Hardly any of them lasted 8 seconds. When they fell off some of them were okay and others were upset, but they were so adorable!

Then on Friday we had the pop series symphony conert, it was The Beattles! That night we dined at Back Street Cafe near Gray and Shephard and ate on the patio. The weather was perfect for sitting outside on the patio with a nice glass of wine. The atmosphere was romantic and relaxing. We ventured out and ordered the Bacon Wrapped Quail served over jalepeno, cheese grits. Then for the entree we got the Coffee Crusted Beef Tenderloin with spinach and potatoes. Everything was wonderful! We have never gone on two big dates like this in one week. It just so happened that all our artsy, cultural events happened in one week.

During our marriage preparation we committed as a couple to having a Date Night. All couples need a regular date night, even if it is once a month. We bought season tickets to the Houston Symphony Pop Series so that we have a special date night already scheduled, that's not to say those are our only dates. I think next year we will do something different like theater tickets or Allen mentioned the Rockets. My hope is that even though we are married we'll continue to date. Isn't that what life is about, sharing experienced and treasuring moments with the ones you love?

I love you Allen and thank you for the wonderful dates this week!
