Christmas Eve

This year was a first that we got to spend Christmas Eve at our house. I spent the day baking desserts to take for Christmas Day and preparing dinner for Christmas Eve. Allen was very sweet and he ran to the grocery store a couple of times. Thankfully it was only for a few ingredients so he didn't have to be there long.

We recently visited a church that we really like, First Baptist Church of The Woodlands. Allen's parents joined us and we went to their Candlelight service. Then Allen's brother and his fiancee joined us for dinner and presents.

My favorite day of the Christmas Season is actually Christmas Eve. That is the day that I really devote to prepare my heart for what is to come the next day and to reflect on the meaning of the season. It's a peaceful time that I always look forward too. Don't get me wrong, Christmas day is a great day of celebration. But at times we let the meal and the logistics get the best of us that we can't enjoy the moments of the day.
