Catching Up

So it has been quite a while since our last post. It's amazing how fast the weeks go when you think that you don't have a lot of plans but before you know it a month has gone bye! I will try not to make this post a book.

We started the year by going to a Zakary Kastner's first birthday. Kris and Andria, Zak's parents, are our friends from Dallas. I will always remember that the first Sunday we attended First Baptist Church of Allen they welcomed us and hit it off immediately, did I mention they were Aggies? :) It's been great that they now live in College Station and we are closer. This past fall we got season football tickets with them. Unfortunately we didn't bring much luck to the Ags. Anyways, the birthday party was soo cute! They had a Curious George theme with monkeys and bananas as decorations. Who didn't like that as a kid?! Here are a few photos of Zakary digging into his cupcake; he's so cute!

Another milestone in January was Allen and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. We decided to combine our Anniversary with Valentine's and take a long weekend trip to Phoenix, AZ. It just so happened that we have some friends that moved there around the same time we moved to Houston. It was great to catch up with them. It was their youngest daughter's 2nd birthday so we got to celebrate with her :) You can tell she was the princess of the evening. While we were in Phoenix it was the NBA All Star Weekend so we headed over to the All Star Practice. During the trip we went for a hike, toured The Biltmore Hotel, and relaxed while taking in the scenery. Here are the pictures from our trip.

The first Saturday in February I helped our neighbor and friend Heather host a baby shower for her sister. She is having a girl so we did everything in pink. We also made a diaper cake for the first time, thanks to YouTube we got a demo :) If you don't know, I LOVE hosting showers of any kind. My battery was low so I didn't get many pictures, but here are a few.
